The Pasadena Fire Department has now set up an emergency notification system that you can sign up for online. This system will notify you via your home, cell, business phone or e-mail about any emergencies in the area. It is free and you can choose which number they can call and what emergencies you want to be notified about (e.g., Red Flag warnings, police activity, etc.).
This is similar to a reverse 911 call, although the reverse 911 calls are usually specific to your street or even neighborhood block.
