The Articles of Incorporation is a document that establishes the legal “person” for the community association. It is filed with the state and is by definition public and can be requested to the Secretary of State for California. The articles give the name of the association, and clearly states that the association is non-profit mutual benefit corporation formed to manage a common interest development.
